The client’s request to change the way and arrangement of stacking boxes with the product on the transport pallet for delivery to end customers and distributors.
The machine that makes pallets with the finished product (palletizer) has a controlling PLC manufactured by Siemens, by the old Step 5 system. Documentation and a PLC program that controls the operation of the machine are available.
The solution
Development of a new program for stacking boxes on a pallet. The new program is added to the existing product stacking list of the programs. From the available documentation and from the PLC program, an algorithm was determined according to which the stacking layout is made. Mechanical adjustments were also made to the machine that were necessary to provide the new stacking method. All previous programs on the pelleting machine are still available to the client after creating a new program.
